I had the opportunity to go on a hound hunt with Randy of Kellogg's Guide Service in 2021 in zone b.  Having put in for point for many years, I knew that I would want to work with  a guide to help increase my chance of a successful hunt.  Prior to my hunt with Randy, I had  no experience bear hunting with hounds, but based on exercises of friends and colleagues, I thought that a hound hunt would create a unique experience.  After looking at several guides, Kellogg's Guide Service came highly recommended.  Randy and his team worked hard every single day to try and put me on a bear. Daily working of bait stations, checking trail cameras, and taking care of the hounds.  It became clear that bear hunting over hounds is hard work.  Randy put in tireless effort daily, putting me on several bears before ultimately finding the bear that I would harvest.  Randy helped explain the bear hunting process, shared his experience, and as we treed several bears, helped me decide on if it would be a bear that I was proud to harvest.  Not only did I walk away with my bear, but great stories that will last a lifetime, and a new appreciation for all of the work bear guides put in.   The hunt with Kellogg's Guide Service is one that i will never forget, and I was glad to share some of the days with my father and brother coming along for the experience.  We have hunted many different species in different ways, but hunting bear over hounds was exhilarating and an experience I would highly recommend.  If you are looking for a guide that is going to work hard to put you on a bear, then I would highly recommend Randy Kellogg of Kellogg's Guide Service.  Go spend the time to see what hunting over hounds is all about and you will have a great experience.  Aaron
